Queyras.

The Queyras is another of my favourite massifs, the one where I first discovered multi-day trekking and which made me want to come back time and time again. The Queyras means perched mountain villages, high alpine passes that have to be earned, a multitude of beautiful lakes, and lovely walks straddling the border between France and Italy. It also perfectly embodies the Southern Alps, with its larch forests turning golden in autumn, enhancing landscapes dominated by the Pic de la Font Sancte and the Pic de Caramantran, with the imposing silhouette of Monte Viso often visible in the distance.
