Iceland

Iceland.

Nature photography, mountain landscapes and hiking. Photos of Iceland.

I have only made one trip there so far, but it profoundly marked me. Iceland is a land of radical contrasts, where the deep black of volcanic earth meets the bright tender green of moss, creating atmospheres found nowhere else. Water is the true connecting thread, present in all its forms: monumental waterfalls, impetuous rivers, glaciers, and ocean. It is a striking spectacle to find yourself at sea level and watch glaciers plunge directly into the water. While tourism has developed considerably, the country immensity is such that you only need to wander slightly off the beaten path to find yourself alone facing the landscape. You then contend with an often hostile climate, but it is also this harshness that makes it one of the most incredible destinations for photography. I cannot wait to go back!
