Unmistakable among all others, the three Aiguilles d'Arves mark the landscape with their unique silhouette, instantly recognisable even from dozens of kilometres away. As long as you steer clear of the ski areas, the massif reveals a surprising wildness, offering hiking trails still largely free from crowds. It's a deeply mineral world, carved from a characteristic black schist that gives the terrain a look both austere and singular. Between the contrasts of this dark rock and the sharp lines of the summits, the massif is an exceptional playground for photography.
